In 2018, Laetitia was appointed by the European Commission as a reserve member of the AI High-Level Group of Experts. She also contributes to the Joint Technical Committee on AI at CEN/CENELEC through Afnor. An accomplished author and innovator, she has published academic works and holds patents in Conversational AI and Responsible AI. Recently, she was appointed to the World Economic Forum for the 2025-26 term, serving on the MINDS Impact Council and the Good Governance Council.

The Business Case for Responsible and Accountable Data and AI
Implementing AI in business can drive significant improvements in efficiency, productivity, and innovation. AI tools can automate repetitive tasks, enhance data analysis, and optimise decision-making, leading to reduced operational costs and faster time-to-market for products and services. Implementing ethical standards and responsible AI practices when introducing AI tools, systems, and solutions into businesses is essential for fostering trust, ensuring compliance, and promoting long-term sustainability. Ethical AI practices help mitigate risks related to bias, discrimination, and privacy violations, which can harm both individuals and organizations as well as lead to unwanted costs and reputation challenges. By adhering to responsible AI guidelines, businesses can enhance transparency, accountability, and fairness in their operations, leading to better decision-making and outcomes. This presentation will look at why responsible and accountable data and AI - which some may see as the source of additional costs and effort is, in fact, good business.
